Alchemy Jazz, based in Spokane, Washington, has entertained audiences throughout the Inland Northwest for several years with its set of classic jazz and soft pop standards. Whether dining in a relaxing restaurant, mingling with colleagues at a corporate event or enjoying an evening with friends in a local lounge, the music of Alchemy Jazz provides an atmosphere everyone will enjoy. Members are Jim Brickey, drums, Chris Moyer, vocals, piano, sax, and Will Mellot, bass.

The Blue Ribbon Tea Company is a performing duo of songwriters Bill and Kathy Kostelec. They also enjoy playing old blues and folk tunes. They have performed at numerous fine festivals and venues, mostly in the Pacific Northwest, and are sometimes accompanied by other talented musicians. Many of their original songs have aired on public and community radio stations (recordings and live shows). Some places they’ve played: multiple Woody Guthrie tribute shows, Northwest Folklife (Seattle), Tumbleweed (Richland), Artichoke (Portland), Spokane area venues and events including Spokane Songwriters Organization showcases, Fall Folk Festival, Pigout in the Park, Inland Northwest Bluegrass Association showcase, Bing Crosby (former Met) Theater, and many intimate listening venues.

Abe is a versatile guitarist who enjoys teaching, performing and composing while
incorporating improvisation and video-game music into a wide range of classical
repertoire, flamenco style, jazz and original compositions. With roots in classical guitar, he
performed in masterclasses with Mannuel Barrueco, Eliot Fisk, placed in regional
competitions, has performed in Mexico, New York, and Japan. Current projects include his
new composition, a suite called “Chess” which he looks forward to premiering later this
year.

Tana is a versatile violinist and teacher. Currently part of Tango Volcado, she was Formerly with
the Spokane Symphony. She is also a freelancer for Broadway shows while also supplementally
teaching at Mead High School. A sought after coach and adjudicator, she teaches an all ages
private studio of 25 students from beginner to 70 years old! She is also a hospice trained
musician. Current projects include traveling to Africa with a medical mission trip to play music
for villagers and documenting the trip.As a composer she has written music for a play, two
documentaries, and a string quartets soon to be performed by William Drury’s at the New
England Conservatory.

Violinist Jeanne Bourgeois has been delighting audiences in the Inland Northwest and beyond for over
a decade. A seasoned performer, she has shared the stage with the biggest musical stars of today,
including Yo-Yo Ma, Pink Martini and Andrea Bocelli. She performs at private events as a soloist or as
part of an ensemble, (string duo, trio or quartet.) Versatile repertoire ranging in a variety of styles from
Classical to music theater and popular tunes. Custom arrangements are easily accommodated and she
works with each client to bring a unique musical atmosphere to every event.
Jeanne Bourgeois has served as Assistant Concertmaster with the Spokane Symphony Orchestra since
2008. She studied at the Eastman School of Music, Northwestern University and Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music. Jeanne is on the music faculty at North Idaho College. Her
performances are frequently broadcast on KPBX and she has been featured on KHQ.

Rusty Jackson performs classic Americana favorites, mostly from the 20th century. He plays the songs that everybody knows because they were big crossover hits. Majoring on artists like Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and a host of others, Rusty’s also a songwriter and includes some of his original music in his performances.

Rachel Bade-McMurphy began composing, performing and improvising at a young
age.Working across-genres has created for her a unique voice and sound which she
calls “Imagine Collective”. She has released 2 CDS of all-original compositions which
have received international airplay.
A recipient of numerous grants and awards, she has been recognized by Chamber
Music of America as a grant recipient and Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival twice as
“Outstanding college soprano vocal soloist” culminating with performances on the
festival main stage with the Lional Hampton Big Band.
Rachel received her Bachelor’s degree from WSU in Pullman, WA, where she
began as a clarinet major but eventually changed to saxophone and jazz voice. She also
participated in the IAJE “sisters in Jazz” mentor program and wrote background music
for Emmy-nominated promo spots for KHQ-Q6 of Spokane. After establishing herself
as a teacher and performer she attended Eastern Washington University for a Masters
degree in Jazz Pedagogy.During this time she decided she wanted to connect her
students to jazz in a more direct way, “Imagine Jazz” is now a non-profit that brings
world-famous jazz artists to Spokane.
Bade-McMurphy teaches lessons, clinics and camps at Mead HS, EWU, Whitworth and
Holy Names Music Center. She also teaches through her studio Songvine Music and through
Imagine Jazz. She is a Spokane Public Radio DJ and can be heard hosting “Afternoon in
Jazz” on Friday afternoons.

theatre, band and orchestra, jazz orchestra, small group combos, solo, and playing for
occasions such as weddings, memorials, or special events.
